Anthony Patterson, 18, stole 3 solid gold watches from Ben Bridge Jewelers in Washington Square Mall Wednesday afternoon, Sgt. Monty Fox said.

Patterson was caught hiding in some bushes about 200 yards away from the mall, police said.

The watches were recovered.

No shots were fired, despite initial reports from people inside the mall indicating so. What they heard was the sound of glass breaking, according to police.

No other customers were inside the store at the time.
