A suspect reportedly took off in a black sedan on SW 165th Avenue and SW Blanton Street, according to Sgt. Bob Ray.

Little is known about the suspect or victim at this point in the investigation. It is unclear if the shooting was gang-related, but deputies believe it was a drive-by.

“These are very dangerous situations but we don’t believe that this was a random act,” Sgt. Ray said.

Neighbors tell KOIN 6 News they are surprised by the violence in their neighborhood.

“People walk up and down this street all the time,” one neighbor commented. “It’s a really nice neighborhood, especially the park… This is really out of the ordinary.”

The investigation continues.
