BEAVERTON, Ore. (KOIN) — A 23-year-old Beaverton man died early Sunday morning following a shooting at a local sports complex the night before, police said.

Reports of the shooting at The Courts near Murray Boulevard and TV Hwy came in Saturday around 9 p.m., Beaverton Police Dept. said.

Andres Castorena died as a result of his injuries. Fernando Chaires, 23, is hospitalized in serious condition, but police say he is expected to survive his injuries.

Police tell KOIN 6 News the shooting happened during a confrontation in The Courts’ driveway.

Castorena and Chaires reportedly pulled up to the sports facility in a car and got into an argument with an unknown number of pedestrians, police said.

The suspected shooter, 19-year-old Roshawn Travers, reportedly ran from the scene and was found about a block away with unknown injuries. He was arrested and charged with 2 counts of first-degree assault and one count of murder.

Some of those involved in the shooting may have been attending a Quinceañera that was happening at The Courts Saturday night.
