The fire happened at SW Armco Ave. near TV Highway just after 10:15 p.m. according to the Hillsboro Fire Department. The motor home was parking in a commercial storage yard.

The flames were contained in about 15 minutes, before it spread to the hundreds of old tires nearby.

47-year-old Jess Watts, who owns the motor home, said he was getting the motor home ready to move to another spot Friday night. As he drove away, he saw the smoke.

A bystander called 911 and Watts attempted to fight the fire, but the smoke and heat stopped him.

Crews were unable to determine the cause, but there were no injuries.
