TILLAMOOK, Ore. (KOIN) — A 41-year-old man is in the hospital after crashing his motorhome into a house on Highway 101.

Oregon State Police say the crash happened Tuesday afternoon. The 30-foot, 1956 motorhome was going southbound on 101 when it drifted off the highway and crashed into a house on McCormick Loop Road.

A family of 5 was upstairs when the crash happened. They told police it felt like an earthquake. An elderly woman was pinned underneath some debris but she only received minor injuries. No one else inside the house was hurt.

The driver of the RV was taken by air ambulance to a Portland hospital for life threatening injuries.

It’s unclear why the driver of the motorhome left the road.

Oregon State Police are still investigating.
