TriMet driver refuses to give free ride, punched

TUALATIN, Ore. (KOIN) — A transient who was sleeping in a bus shelter punched a TriMet driver in the eye when the driver refused to give the man a free ride, police said.

Song Sushumna Landis was arrested a few blocks away from the Tualatin bus shelter at SW 65th and Borland around 6 a.m. The 24-year-old allegedy was sleeping when the bus driver asked him to leave the shelter. Police said he then asked for a free ride and, when the driver refused, punched him.

Landis faces a 3rd-degree assault charge and has been banned from all TriMet property.
