Families of fallen vets speak in Hillsboro

Many ceremonies held thoughout the region this day

HILLSBORO, Ore. (KOIN) — The families of 3 fallen veterans spoke at a Washington County Memorial Day ceremony.

Wendall Pelham, whose son, Spc. John Pelham, died in Afghanistan in 2014, hosted the ceremony. Other speakers included the families of Navy Corpsman Ryley Gallinger-Long, killed in action in August 2011, and PFC Andrew Keller, who lost his life in August 2012.

The ceremony was held at the Washington County Veterans Memorial Gateway, NE 34th Avenue and Veterans Drive.
