Man and 2 sons rescued after canoe sinks

All 3 in the canoe were wearing life vests

TUALATIN, Ore. (KOIN) — Three people were rescued after their canoe submerged in the Tualatin River Saturday afternoon.

A man and his 2 sons were all wearing life vests when they ended up in the water. Another boater on the water saw them and called for help.

When the Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue water rescue team arrived, the canoers had climbed to the river bank near the 8600 block of SW Chinook St.

All three were evaluated by waiting paramedics.

TVF&R took this opportunity to remind people to always wear life vests on the water, and while temperatures are warming up, the water is still cold and can cause people of rescuing themselves if they end up in the water.
