COWLITZ COUNTY, Wash. (KOIN) — A 17-year-old girl died when the car she was driving rolled over in Cowlitz County Friday morning.

The teen — whose name has not yet been released — was headed south in the 300 block of Woodside Drive and may have been traveling too fast as she entered a corner, the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office said.

The speed limit in that area is 35 mph.

Her Subaru rolled over onto its top along the road. When emergency responders arrived shortly after 9 a.m., they found her still wearing her seat belt. But she died at the scene.

The investigation continues, though the sheriff’s office said there was no indication alcohol was a factor in this crash.
