PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Regular MAX service is expected to re-start Sunday since the 1st Avenue MAX Improvements project is on schedule, TriMet officials said.

A test was done Friday on the new switch sections that were part of the project. Officials say the test went well and crews are finishing the last of the work Saturday afternoon.

MAX Blue, Red and Green lines will return to their regular downtown routes Sunday morning. Regular frequency will also also be restored on all routes.

The project began May 8. Riders were warned to expect 30-45 minute delays, but most passengers seemed to roll with the changes.
