PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — It was bad enough when Douglas Darling’s home on Hayden Island was burglarized in March. What really hurt was the thief stole artwork painted by a late family member.

Not long after the burglary, Ryan Stephen Hentz was arrested in Vancouver on several charges, including this burglary. Investigators believe the 32-year-old may have sold or traded the paintings to someone who wasn’t aware they were stolen.

The paintings have sentimental value to Darling, who owns Darling’s Hair Salon in downtown Portland.

Crime Stoppers of Oregon is now involved in the case. Tipsters can stay anonymous and a cash reward is available for information that leads to an arrest.
