Salem police activity locks down 6 schools

Students were released to parents at 3:45 p.m.

SALEM, Ore. (KOIN) — Six schools in Salem were locked down Monday afternoon because of police activity in the area.

It is not known at this time what the police activity involved.

Liberty Elementary, Sumpter Elementary, Schirle Elementary, Crossler Middle School, Sprague High School and Judson High School were affected.

Parents needed to show a photo ID in order to pick up their students.
