5 Months out from our Wettest December

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – April is rounding up and my favorite month of the year is busting through the soil and ready to take over. There are multiple reasons why I love the month of May, but the main one is, the weather starts to consistently feel warmer and those bouts of cold spells and snow tend to fade away. It’s also one month closer to actual summer, and I hear PDX is the place to be during the summer (this will be my first summer in Portland). Let’s think about this though, we are now 5 months out from our wettest December ever on record. I’m not sure if it’s just me but I still feel like it was yesterday. That month really added a layer of skin when it comes to handling rainy days.

That being said, here are a few numbers for our month of May: graphicmay

High and Low normal temperatures from the start of the month to the end. Some other additional information is we typically see about 4 days of 80 degrees or above and <1 day of 90 degrees or above. We will have a chance to crack 80 degrees the first two days of May. The most ever recorded is 11 back in 1992.

We had 6 days in April, let’s see if we will top that in May.
