Firefighters removed passenger door and car roof to reach them

LEBANON, Ore. (KOIN) — Two women were hospitalized after firefighters pulled them from a car involved in a head-on crash Wednesday, officials said.

The 2-car crash happened at the intersection of Denny School Road and Sand Ridge Road, Lebanon Fire District said. One car was in the roadway and another was in a ditch nearby when firefighters arrived on the scene.

Two victims were pinned inside one of the cars. Firefighters used hydraulic extrication tools to remove the passenger door and the car’s roof to reach them.

They were both taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

Their current conditions are unknown.

Two people in the other car reportedly refused to be taken to the hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
