Body found in Willamette River near St. Johns Bridge

A person fishing on the Cathedral Park dock reportedly spotted the body

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Authorities recovered a body found floating in the Willamette River near the St. Johns Bridge Thursday evening, police said.

A person fishing on the Cathedral Park dock reportedly spotted the body around 7 p.m., Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said.

Crews arrived and found the body around 30 feet from easterly piers under the St. Johns Bridge. They body was transported to the Cathedral Park boat ramp.

The body will be turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
