K9 helps find missing woman with dementia in Tualatin

TUALATIN, Ore. (KOIN) — Search and rescue crews successfully located a missing and endangered woman in the Prosperity Park area Wednesday night.

Trudy Wiedemann, 69, who suffers from dementia, was last seen around 3:30 p.m. near 5195 SW Prosperity Park Road, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said.

She was wearing pink sweatpants and a bright blue/green Columbia windbreaker.

Wiedemann suffers from dementia and her speaking abilities are described as extremely limited, according to deputies.

A Northern Oregon Search and Rescue K9 used air scents to locate Wiedemann in the woods a short time later. She was found conscious and breathing but very cold.

Wiedemann was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
