PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -– Police have identified a second suspect in connection to a July 2015 homicide, according to court documents.
Andre Michael Grandy, 27, and Deandrea Christopher Sanders, 26, are both charged with one count each of murder with a firearm, attempted aggravated murder with a firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to court documents, the shooting happened on July 12, 2015.
Anthony Jackson was shot and killed with a .45 caliber pistol, according to the indictment.
Portland Police responded to the Shalamar Apartments, located in the 13700 block of Southeast Powell on reports of a shooting. When detectives responded, they learned that 14 shots were fired and that one bullet struck Jackson in the head.
Police say the shooting occurred in the rear parking lot of the apartment complex. Four days after the shooting, Sanders was arrested during a traffic stop. Officers located a .45 caliber pistol in the glove box of Sanders’ glovebox. Testing from the state crime lab confirmed that the gun found in Sanders’ vehicle was the one used in the homicide, according to court documents.
According to court documents, Sanders admitted having an ongoing dispute with the victim.
Details of Grandy’s alleged involvement in the case have not been disclosed.
Records show that Grandy is in the middle of serving a prison sentenced for first-degree burglary and felon in possession of a firearm. The Oregon Department of Corrections shows his release date is scheduled for March 17, 2017.
Grandy is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday morning.
