Firefighters were called to the 38000 block of Payne Drive around 9:30 a.m. on reports of an unconscious man pinned in a tractor, Lebanon Fire District said.

The man was reportedly using his Kubota tractor to help direct a 35-foot aspen tree away from a house while another man used a chainsaw to bring it down.

As the trunk was being cut, it snapped unexpected and fell directly onto the 77-year-old man, fire officials said.

The tree knocked him unconscious and pinned him to the seat of his tractor.

Then, fire officials said, the tractor rolled backwards 30 feet down Payne Drive.

Firefighters extricated the victim, who regained consciousness, and transported him to a local hospital for treatment of multiple traumatic injuries.
