Motion Marine’s property on SW Mountain Road, estimated to be at least 13,500 square feet in size, included a barn, woodshop and work spaces where boats were manufactured or customized.

Firefighters were able to save a boat with an estimated value of $300,000, some vehicles and some chickens.

Putting out the flames was difficult because there were no fire hydrants in the area. Crews had to stretch hundreds of feet of water hose lines.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and no one was injured.

At least 60 fire personnel responded to the fire, and TVF&R was assisted by Lake Oswego Fire Department, Clackamas Fire District, and Portland Fire and Rescue.

Incidentally, Motion Marine customized the water rescue boats used by TVF&R and Lake Oswego Fire Department.
