Hales delivers final State of the City speech

The event begins at 12:15 p.m. at the Sentinel hotel

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Mayor Charlie Hales delivered his final State of the City speech Friday at the Sentinel hotel in downtown Portland.

The event began at 12:15 p.m. at 614 SW 11th Avenue.

Traffic delays are expected throughout the city Friday as Bernie Sanders supporters line up for his 12:45 p.m. rally at the Moda Center.

Mayor Hales will reflect on the progress Portland has made over the last 3 years during his State of the City speech. He’ll also lay out what he hopes to accomplish before he leaves office.

Hales announced he would not be running for a second term back in October.
