‘Family friend’ faces teen sex corruption charges

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 21-year-old man is sitting in the Clatsop County Jail after extradition from Washington on charges of online sexual corruption of a teenage girl.

Brandon Wayne Albert Eide was arrested on February 22 in Moses Lake, Washington. He arrived in Clatsop County Thursday night, officials said.

Eide, also known as Brandon Bachtold, allegedly had a year-long relationship with a 14-year-old girl who knew him as a family friend. But he’s accused of secretly communicating with her on social media to arrange in-person meetings.

Investigators don’t think there are other victims in this case, but continue to look into it.

Eide faces charges of luring a minor, 1st-degree online sexual corruption of a Child,and the use of a child in a sexually explicit display.

There are also federal charges pending and other charges may be added later.
