PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Portland Bureau of Transportation is asking drivers to avoid the Steel Bridge through Sunday night.

The city has closed the ramp from southbound NW Naito Parkway to the Steel Bridge to reduce eastbound congestion on the bridge, which could come from the closure of NE Oregon Street between NE Lloyd and NE 1st by the Oregon Convention Center. This is due to the IAAF World Indoor Track and Field Championships, which are happening at the Convention Center.

Drivers on NW Everett Street hoping to cross the Steel Bridge are advised to turn on NW Broadway and take the Burnside Bridge instead.

The closed on ramp and NE Oregon Street will reopened at 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
