Woman dies week after being hit in NE Portland crosswalk

The 89-year-old driver stayed at the scene

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 34-year-old woman was critically injured when she stepped into a crosswalk in Northeast Portland and was hit by a car.

The 89-year-old driver stayed at the scene at NE 117th Avenue and Glisan around 12:40 p.m. Friday.

The woman, Amber Lapine, was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. She died on March 27 as a result of the injuries she suffered.

No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.

Note: Police originally identified the woman as being 24-years-old.
