NEWPORT, Ore. (KOIN) – A Lincoln County woman is facing charges for allegedly recklessly causing the death of a 52-year-old man.
On Feb. 27, Oregon State Police responded to a head-on crash along Highway 20, just outside of Newport.
Investigators say 32-year-old Jennifer Rozewski was driving a 2012 Subaru Outback eastbound on Hwy. 20 when she crossed over the centerline and struck a vehicle being driven westbound.
Joseph A. Dauenhauer was taken to a local hospital but did not survive his injuries.
Troopers with Oregon State Police went to talk with Rozewski, who was also hurt during the crash. According to court documents, she told them that she had gone to the Seafood and Wine festival earlier that afternoon and had consumed around eight one-ounce tasters of wine.
Rozewski is charged with one count each of second-degree manslaughter and driving under the influence of intoxicants.
She is scheduled for an arraignment.March 21.
