PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Shamrock Run takes over the streets of downtown Portland Sunday, unofficially kicking off the start to Portland’s running season.

35,000 people are expected to run in the half-marathon, 15k, 8k and 5k races.

There will be several street closures Sunday morning, mostly between 7:00 and 11:15. The largest closures include Naito Parkway, which will be closed in both directions between SW Columbia and NW Kittridge, and Terwilliger Blvd. which will be closed from SW Sam Jackson Park Rd. to Capital Highway. For a full list of closures click here.

If you are participating in the Shamrock Run, remember to set your clock forward for Daylight Saving Time so you don’t miss your start time. Also, dress warmly and try to find something waterproof.
