Man loses arm at Portland noodle factory

His right arm was reportedly amputated below the elbow

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man’s arm was amputated Thursday after getting caught in a noodle machine at a Portland factory, officials said.

Emergency responders were called to Shin Shin Food at 400 N Thompson Street around 5:30 p.m., Lt. Rich Tyler with Portland Fire & Rescue said.

They reportedly found a man in his 30s with his hand caught in a noodle machine.

His right arm was amputated below the elbow during the incident, Lt. Tyler said.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration says its aware of the situation and is investigating.
