Fire damages Gresham apartment complex

Residents evacuated, no injuries reported

GRESHAM, Ore. (KOIN) — A fire damaged an apartment complex early on Thursday morning.

Residents of the complex in the 3100 block of Northwest Division Street were evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Crews found heavy fire extending from the building when they arrived and started an immediate attack to knock the flames down. Gresham Police assisted with the evacuations.

It took crews about 50 minutes from the first 911 call to get the fire under control.

Firefighters say that the cause is unknown, but a fire investigator is on scene.

At least one unit is destroyed, but the full extent of the damage to other units from heat and water is unknown.
