PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Saying he’s heard the message from Portlanders, Mayor Charlie Hales announced an online spot for residents to find out about the city’s homeless plans and to report homeless camping.

The City of Portland’s “Homelessness Toolkit” includes sections on managing life on the streets, the goal of permanent housing, temporary shelter, statistics and frequently asked questions.

There is also a link to the “One Point of Contact” system for residents to report campsites in the city and share their livability concerns.

“Four months into the State of Emergency in Housing and Homelessness, I’m asking Portlanders for continued patience and a recognition that we are all in this together,” Mayor Hales said in a statement. “Until we reach our goal of having a permanent home for all Portlanders, our short-term approach is to balance the need for people sleeping outside to be safe, with the entire city’s need for health, safety and livability.”
