SALEM, Ore. (KOIN) — A 29-year-old woman who was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a tow truck crashed into her Tuesday evening died the following day, police said.
Rebecca Schoff passed away at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Salem Police Dept.
Officers were called to the scene at Mission Street SE and Ford Street SE around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday on reports of a car that hit a pedestrian.
Investigators say the area doesn’t have any crosswalks (marked or unmarked).
Schoff was reportedly crossing the street when 35-year-old Timothy Hall turned his Bales and Brady Tow Truck into the special left turn lane on Mission Street, hitting her.
Hall stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
No arrests have been made. The investigation continues.
