Hillsboro man accused of killing mom’s boyfriend

The two got into a verbal argument which turned physical, say police

HILLSBORO, Ore. (KOIN) — A 20-year-old Hillsboro man is in the Washington County jail, accused of killing his mother’s boyfriend.

Hillsboro Police say they were called to a house in the 600 block of NW Garibaldi St. late Monday night on the report of an assault.

They found 47-year-old Thomas Wearing with a stab wound to his stomach. He later died from his wounds.

Police say Wearing lives at the house with his girlfriend and her son, Timothy Simpkins. Simpkins and Wearing got into an argument which turned violent. Simpkins allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Wearing in the stomach.

Simpkins is charged with murder.
