Gresham police find guns, cash, drugs in motel raid

GRESHAM, Ore. (KOIN) – Officers seized several guns and a small amount of drugs inside a motel, according to court records.

The warrant was executed earlier this month at the Days Inn in the 24100 block of Southeast Stark Street.

Prior to detectives executing their search warrant, they saw Jacob Michael Martin leave the motel. They followed him and watched him engage in a hand-to-hand drug transaction, according to court documents. Martin told detectives that he sells to about 10 customers a day, including Harms.

When officers with the Gresham Police Special Enforcement Team got inside the motel room, they found a loaded .357 revolver, a total of 36.2 grams of heroin, 21.1 grams of meth, gun ammo, and $440 in cash. They also found a three year old and a six month old inside the motel.

Officers found a set of keys belonging to Nickolaus Allen Harms which led them to a storage unit in the 19200 block of Northeast Halsey Street. Inside the storage unit, officers found a .22 caliber rifle with a 12.5 inch barrel, a 12 gauge shotgun, several additional rounds of ammo, and a coffee grinder with suspected heroin residue, according to court documents.

Harms is charged with three counts of being a felon in possession of  a firearm and one count each of delivery of heroin, delivery of meth, possession of heroin and possession of meth. He is also charged with one count of unlawful possession of a short barreled shotgun. He has entered a not guilty plea.

The mother of the child has been charged with two counts of first-degree child neglect.
