Indictments filed against cousins in deadly crash

Oswald Alexander Reyes and Jose David Lara have been indicted by a grand jury on 2nd - degree manslaughter charges

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) – A grand jury handed up an indictment against two men who are accused of speed racing and causing a deadly crash in Southeast Portland.

Oswald Alexander Reyes and Jose David Lara will be arraigned on Tuesday in Multnomah County Circuit Court.

According to the indictment, both have been charged with second-degree manslaughter.

The crash occurred on Dec. 4, 2015 along Southeast Stark Street.

Police say the cousins were racing when a crash occurred. Linda Johnston was killed.

Witnesses told police they saw the vehicles traveling closer to 80 miles per hour moments before the crash. The speed limit where the crash occurred is 35 miles per hour.
