Police use tourniquet on gunshot wound victim

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -– A man in his 40s is recovering after being shot in the leg, according to police.

Officers responded to Northeast 18th and Alberta on Saturday at 10:40 p.m. on reports of a shooting.

The first officers on scene used a tourniquet to help slow the blood loss. The man was taken to a local hospital.

Witnesses told police they saw several people run from the scene after the shooting.
