U-Haul driver hits tree in NE Portland, dies

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The driver of a U-Haul truck died after crashing into a tree in Northeast Portland Monday afternoon.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. on Northeast Glisan between 91st and 92nd, Portland police said. The driver was headed west on Glisan when, for unknown reasons, the truck went onto a sidewalk and hit a tree.

It’s not known is weather, speed or intoxication was a factor in this crash, police said.

The name of the driver has not been released.
