SILVERTON, Ore. (KOIN) — Two parole violators believed to involved in an armed robbery in Tigard are behind bars in Marion County after crashing during a chase by police late Saturday night.

Silverton police told the Marion County Sheriff’s Office they were chasing an SUV toward Silverton Falls State Park. But they stopped the pursuit around 11:40 p.m.

Deputies then spotted the SUV and coordinated setting spike strips to stop the car. But the SUV tried to drive off the road near Mill Creek Road and Golf Club Road SE and got stuck.

Olivia Matheny, 21, was arrested and taken to Tigard for their investigation. She’s being held on a parole violation.

Richard Clark was taken from the scene to the hospital for treatment of a likely drug overdose. Once he’s out of the hospital, the 28-year-old will be arrested for a parole violation, attempting to elude, reckless driving and reckless endangering.

Five separate agencies helped the Marion County Sheriff’s Office in this case.
