PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An 11-year-old Texas girl says she was kicked off her cheerleading team because she wouldn’t straighten her hair.

The team’s coach had a meeting with Makayla Fallaw’s parents, where they said if Makayla was to straighten her curls it would damage them.

The coach said he wanted a uniform look and decided to cut Makayla from the team.
