PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 27-year-old man was killed after being shot in the head on a sidewalk in Northeast Portland Saturday night.

A passerby saw the man, identified as Arthur Simon Aihebhoria, around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Northeast Rodney and Failing. It was a dark and rainy night, and police said he may have been laying there for 45 minutes before anyone noticed him.

“It is very dark on the street especially with the canopy of trees and leaves, and rain and everything and it’s not a busy street, it’s a residential area,” PPB Sgt. Pete Simpson said. “It’s a pretty rough night out here for weather.”

An autopsy on Sunday determined Aihebhoria died from a single shot to the head.

The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to contact PPB Detective Vince Cui at 503.823.0400 or vince.cui@portlandoregon.gov
