Ultralight aircraft lands in Columbia River

ST. HELENS, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say a small ultralight aircraft landed in the Columbia River Saturday morning near St. Helens.

Columbia County Sheriff Jeff Dickerson tells KOIN 6 News the pilot was flying solo out of Woodland, Washington.

Dickerson doesn’t know why the craft landed in the river.

The pilot wasn’t hurt.
