PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Jesuit High School received two commemorative golden footballs from the NFL Thursday morning.
The balls were presented by KOIN’s Stan Brock and his brother Pete, both graduates of Jesuit High School. The golden footballs are given to players who participated in Super Bowls, to give to their high schools. It’s part of the festivities for Super Bowl 50.
Stan says it takes character to be in the NFL, and he learned that at Jesuit High School.
The brothers also presented their Super Bowl jerseys to the school. Pete played in Super Bowl XX with the New England Patriots. Stan played in Super Bowl XXIX for the San Diego Chargers.
In 1987, Stan Brock helped the Saints reach the playoffs for the first time and sat down to talk with Chris Myers (who was at WWL at the time). You can see Stan’s interview beginning at the 5:30 mark of the video below.
