Police: Speeding DUII driver had $4k cash, heroin

WEST LINN, Ore. (KOIN) — A 26-year-old man was reportedly found with $4,000 cash and several ounces of heroin after a morning DUII traffic stop, authorities said.

Police pulled over Edgar Francisco Madrigal around 7:40 a.m. for allegedly driving 83 mph in a 55 mph zone on I-205 near 10th Street, West Linn Police Dept. said.

After contacting Madrigal, the officer determined he was driving under the influence of intoxicants. Madrigal’s blood alcohol content was reportedly .08%.

Madrigal — who is on federal probation for conspiracy to distribute heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine — was in possession of $4,000 in cash and 4.4 ounces of heroin at the time of his arrest, police said.

The suspect was lodged in Clackamas County Jail on DUII and heroin-related charges.
