ALOHA, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Aloha Friday evening, sheriff’s deputies confirmed.

Deputies responded to a 911 call about an attempted suicide on the 18000 block of Shaw, Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.

Witnesses told KOIN 6 News they heard 5-7 gunshots. A resident of the Patrician Apartment said he saw police pull up around 5 p.m. and heard gunfire about 3 minutes later.

Phyllis Ilene Jepsen, 55, was taken to a local hospital where she later died, Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said at least one deputy fired shots that hit the woman.

No deputies were injured in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
