Girl hospitalized after struck by car on N Lombard

Officials said victim is 11-year-old girl

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A child was transported to the hospital with traumatic injuries on Friday morning after being struck by a car.

Portland Police said the incident happened in the 3200 block of North Lombard Street.

Officials said the child was an 11-year-old girl but could not confirm officially. She is expected to survive.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene. An investigation revealed that the girl got off of an eastbound TriMet bus and ran northbound across Lombard where she was hit by a westbound driver who was unable to stop in time.

No citations have been issued and the case remains under investigation.
