88 citations issued during Hood to Coast 2015

Police pulled over more than 100 drivers

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Multnomah County Sheriff’s Deputies and Portland Police Officers conducted a joint speed enforcement mission Friday afternoon during the Hood to Coast relay race.

The enforcement was focused on Highway 30, from Kittridge Ave. to Watson Rd. During a five hour period, officials made more than 100 traffic stops and issued 88 citations. The majority of the tickets were for speeding, but others were for seat belt and cellphone violations. 22 warnings were also issued.

After the mission, officers moved to the Springwater Trail to provide additional security for runners. Officials did contact one person who was harassing runners along the trail. No arrests were made.
