Work resumes to repave I-5 and install signs between the Marquam Bridge and Fremont Bridge. Expect overnight closures through Sunday, August 30. The I-405 southbound ramp to I-5 southbound will close from 10 p.m. Monday, August 24 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, August 25. You can use I-405 northbound across the Fremont Bridge to I-5 southbound as an alternate route. I-5 southbound will close between the Fremont Bridge and the Marquam Bridge during the same hours on Tuesday and Wednesday night. That same stretch of I-5 southbound will close again from 10 p.m. Saturday, August 29 to noon Sunday, August 30.

In a separate project, crews will make improvements to NE Halsey Street from 132nd Avenue to 148th Avenue. The repaving project starts Monday, August 24 and runs through Friday, September 11 between the hours of 7 a.m. To 5 p.m. each work day. Halsey will remain open, but watch out for flaggers directing traffic through open lanes. Halsey includes bike lanes and public transit stops so be prepared to take an alternate route to avoid congestion. The City of Portland says the work will impact the morning commute more than the evening commute. The lane closures are only in effect during project hours.
