PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 36-year-old drunk driver armed with multiple firearms was arrested Saturday night after he nearly hit a police car head on, authorities said.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m., Sabahudin Nuhanovic crossed into oncoming traffic and narrowly avoided a collision with a patrol car on SE Powell Boulevard near 137th Avenue, Portland Police Bureau said.

Officers who interacted with Nuhanovic said he reached for his waistband several times before being taken into custody.

He reportedly had an unloaded handgun in his waistband, and during a search of his car authorities found another handgun, a shotgun and ammunition.

Nuhanovic was allegedly under the influence of alcohol during the incident.

He was booked on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, 2 counts of unlawful use of a firearm, reckless driving and driving under the influence of intoxicants.
