FOREST GROVE, Ore. (KOIN) — A Forest Grove Police Officer’s body camera recorded an accident the officer witnessed on July 14.

The Forest Grove Police Department posted to video on Facebook to show the public the importance of body cameras for police officers.

“The attached video shows body worn camera footage of a crash at 19th & Hawthorne July 14th caught within a second of impact. While the officer requests medical crews respond to the scene, fortunately no one was injured in what appeared to be a violent crash. You can see that the N/B light on Hawthorne is visibly red for approximately 10 seconds before the light turns green, indicating it was approximately half-way through its cycle. Another example of how body worn cameras can help the police in their investigations,” police wrote.
