Crews snuff out SW Portland house fire

The fire was reported in the 2400 block of Southwest Garden View Avenue at 3:59 a.m

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Firefighters have knocked down a quick moving residential fire.

The fire was reported in the 2400 block of Southwest Garden View Avenue at 3:59 a.m., according to dispatch records.

According to a neighbor, the one person who lives at the home was able to get out safely. The woman has been taken across the street to a neighbor’s house where a woman give her a chair and blankets. A fire investigator was seen speaking with her.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Thick black smoke could be seen coming from the roof. Firefighters have cut several holes into the roof to allow the pressure to escape.
