PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Multnomah County DA’s Office will not pursue a bribing case against a 28 year old man, according to court documents.
Alex Steven Steckly was arrested by Portland Police on July 4. Police say he was driving while suspended. Initially, police booked him into jail on one count of misdemeanor driving while suspended and offering to give a police officer a bribe, according to court records.
On Monday, the DA’s Office filed a court document that only accuses Steckly of misdemeanor driving while suspended. The bribery charge has been dropped.
Steckly is scheduled to appear in court on Friday afternoon, records show.
