PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Heading to the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival this holiday weekend? KOIN 6 News has important travel and parking information to make your festival experience as smooth as possible.
It’s easy to reach the site from SW Naito Parkway from the Hawthorne Bridge ramps or from the Esplanade.
- Heading south on I-5 into Portland: Take the 4th Avenue exit (first exit after the Marquam Bridge). Turn right (east) on Market. Stay on Market until you reach Naito Parkway.
- Heading north on I-5 into Portland: Exit at Naito Parkway. Go straight ahead to the festival.
- Heading east on highway 26 into Portland: Get into the center lane before you get to the tunnel. Stay in that lane, which becomes S.W. Market. Stay on Market until your reach Naito Parkway.
Street parking is expected to fill up quickly. Smart Park has various lots throughout downtown including ones at SW 4th and Yamhill, SW 3rd and Alder, and SW 1st and Jefferson.
City Center Parking also has various locations throughout the city: SW 1st and Clay, Naito Parkway U-Park, SW 1st and Jefferson, SW Naito and Taylor, SW Naito and Harrison, SW 1st and Columbia, and SW Naito and Jefferson.
There will be two bicycle parking locations on the festival grounds: One near the main gate and one near the Oregonian Front Porch Stage at the north end of the festival site.
You can also utilize public transportation to get to the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival. You can find a TriMet bus, MAX light rail or Portland Street Car route to take you to the festival on TriMet’s website.
