PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An alleged thief was arrested after the owner of a stolen iPad tracked it down using an app locator.

Portland police began looking into the car prowl at the Chuck E. Cheese on SE Powell on Sunday. Early Monday, the owner of the iPad told police he found where it was using an app.

When officers went to that spot, they eventually arrested Ernesto Ruiz Lewis for theft. They said they also found a stolen gun, some drugs and found Lewis had an identity theft warrant.

The 34-year-old man faces 5 separate charges, including being a felon in possesion of a firearm.
